I admit I’m not much of a Bill Callahan or Smog aficionado. I quite like some of the bits and pieces I’ve heard over the years, but really can’t speak with any authority about his body of work. What I can do is tell you how impressed I am with his latest album. Beautifully arranged, meandering music, with pained, thoughtful lyrics and subtle hooks. The three below are my current favorites.
